Itinerary

1 day

Bishkek - Burana Tower - Cholpon Ata - Grigoriev gorge

On the way, stop at the famous Burana Tower. This UNESCO World Heritage site will be of interest to the history fiends. We’ll spend around 30 minutes here: climb on the top of the tower, visit the archaeology museum and walk around to have a look at the balbals (ancient stones with depictions). Resuming our way to Issyk Kul. Upon arrival in Cholpon Ata (central town of the lake’s northern coast) check in at a hotel. Lunch. A beautiful boat ride out on the lake. After roaming 8km the boat will stop at the depth of 150m. In the hot season (May-September) you can dive into the water and enjoy the surreal swim (life jackets provided). In the other seasons you will have no less beautiful time on the boat. At sunset we’ll visit the epic, adjacent Grigoriev gorge (30km). Offroad drive to the hidden mountainous lake with some stunning views on the way. Return to Cholpon Ata. Free time. Dinner at a restaurant. Overnight.

2 day

Cholpon Ata - Konorchek canyons - Bishkek

In the morning you will have time for swimming in the lake, sunbathing and for a relaxing walk. Visit the historical museum where you will trace the entire history of Kyrgyzstan and the spiritual center Rukh Ordo which is dedicated to the 5 main religions of the world. Now we’re setting off back for Bishkek but it doesn’t mean the adventures are over. After not a long drive we’ll visit the picturesque Konorchek canyon, but this stop won’t be the usual one… Instead of entering the canyon from the main road we’ll use a hidden, unbeaten path that is still unknown even to most of the locals. Driving up the mountain pass soon we’ll reach the breathtaking panorama that opens up a magnificent view of the whole canyon. Slight hike. Lunch. Resuming our way to Bishkek. Upon arrival in the city you’ll be dropped off at your hotel. This is the end of your lovely tour. Thanks a lot!
